Porto has an oceanic climate (Köppen Csb) influenced by the Atlantic. Summers are warm and dry (22–28°C); winters are mild but wet (8–14°C). The city receives about 1,200mm of annual rainfall, most falling November–March. Snow is exceptionally rare. The Atlantic ensures summers are never as hot as Lisbon, and sea breezes cool the coast.
