Botahtaung Jetty and the adjoining stretch of Strand Road sit on the Yangon River waterfront in southern downtown Yangon, Myanmar, and offer a working-river frame: fishing and ferry boats in the foreground, riverside tea stalls and walkers along the embankment, and the low silhouette of Dala on the far bank. The best vantage is along the jetty and the river wall facing south and west, so that dusk light comes across the water from behind or beside the camera and warms the boats and hulls. The ideal window is about 17:00 to 18:30, particularly from November to February, when haze is lower and the sky turns orange and pink; in the monsoon, heavy cloud and rain reduce visibility, though moody skies can work for silhouettes. Mornings give clearer detail but flatter light. The waterfront is moderately busy at dusk with families, couples and tea-stall customers, and a clean foreground may require moving along the river wall or waiting for boats to pass. Access to the jetty area is generally free, though the nearby Botahtaung Pagoda has its own entry arrangements for foreign visitors. Tripods are usually tolerated on the embankment if they do not obstruct pedestrians, but a long exposure can attract curiosity and visitors should be ready to explain. Drone use is restricted around the port and central Yangon, and photographers should avoid shooting port facilities or officials. A short telephoto compresses the boats against Dala, while a wide lens captures the whole embankment scene. Street vendors sell tea, snacks and water along Strand Road, and restrooms are available at the tea shops and nearby pagoda.
