Riad Dar Rocmarra

Riad Dar Rocmarra occupies a fully refurbished traditional house on Derb El Halfaoui in the Bab Doukkala area of the medina, close to the Dar el Bacha quarter and about a ten-minute walk from Jemaa el-Fna, with the well-regarded Dar Moha and Dar Marjana restaurants just around the corner. Local master craftsmen carried out the restoration, keeping original cedar-wood beamed ceilings and adding en-suite bathrooms finished in traditional sculpted tadelakt plaster, along with elegant arches and columns typical of Marrakesh riad architecture. The house has five en-suite rooms across Standard, Superior, and Suite categories, all air-conditioned, arranged around a courtyard with a shady olive tree, a plunge pool, and an open fire used for seating on cooler evenings. Meals are prepared by an in-house head chef and available for lunch and dinner alongside the included breakfast, focused on home-style Moroccan cooking served in the courtyard or on the rooftop. The roof terrace, reached from the courtyard, has sun loungers and a pergola-shaded seating area used for breakfast and for watching the sunset over the medina, though the riad has no separate spa or hammam on site, with guests typically arranged into nearby hammams by staff. The five-room scale and craftsman restoration make it a quiet, intimate option best suited to couples and small groups wanting an authentic medina stay with home-cooked meals rather than large hotel facilities.
