Pohnpei Surf Club Lodge occupies Nahlap Island, a small private islet in Pohnpei Lagoon reached by a 20-minute boat transfer from Kolonia harbor. The property's location provides exclusive access to Palikir Pass and other reef breaks scattered around Pohnpei's outer barrier, which produces some of the most consistent and powerful surf in Micronesia. The barrier reef generates long left-handers and hollow right-hand breaks that attract international surfers primarily from October through March when northwest swells peak, though the outer reef produces rideable waves year-round.

The lodge is built around overwater bungalows extending directly above the lagoon, combining the aesthetic of traditional Pacific island construction with modern interior standards. Each bungalow features a private deck with direct lagoon access for swimming and snorkeling, air conditioning, and fitted bathrooms. Interior furnishings are at the premium end for the Micronesian market — quality linens, solid timber fixtures, and unobstructed water views in every direction. The property accommodates a small number of guests at any time, creating an intimate atmosphere unusual at this price point and ensuring uncrowded access to the reef.

The gourmet restaurant sources fresh seafood from local fishermen daily and supplements with produce flown in from Guam.
