The capital has mild winters (highs around 21°C/70°F) and warm dry springs before summer, with a rainy season from June to October bringing most of the annual 585mm (23in) of rainfall, heaviest in July, August, and September. The Huasteca Potosina region is notably warmer and more humid year-round due to its lower elevation and dense subtropical forest.
