Public transit reaches the area via the R-1 bus route that runs the length of the Hotel Zone boulevard, dropping visitors near resort entrances, though a rental car or taxi is more convenient given the distance from downtown Cancun. The calmer water and resort-lined shore make the area feel more manicured and less wild than the southern Hotel Zone beaches, with a steady presence of families and groups doing water sports throughout the day.
