Casa Madero Winery Shop

Casa Madero's estate shop sits at Hacienda San Lorenzo outside Parras de la Fuente, Coahuila, on grounds that make it the oldest continuously operating winery in the Americas. Unlike a generic souvenir stand, the shop sells only Casa Madero's own labels: entry-level Casa Grande and 3V lines, mid-range Shiraz and Cabernet blends from the Parras Valley, and limited estate reserves that are difficult to find outside the region. Because everything on the shelf is produced on-site, quality is consistent and there is no ratio of authentic-to-trinket goods to weigh, though the shop also stocks branded brandy, olive oil, and wine accessories alongside the bottles. Prices are fixed and clearly marked; bargaining is not part of the culture here, but visitors who buy by the case are sometimes offered a modest discount at checkout. Cards and cash in pesos are both accepted, and there is no tax-refund program for wine purchases taken outside Mexico. The shop adjoins a tasting room and a small on-site restaurant, so the atmosphere is unhurried and geared toward visitors combining a cellar tour with lunch rather than rushed souvenir buying. Layout is simple: a single retail room near the tasting counter, with reserve bottles displayed separately behind glass. The surrounding hacienda grounds, with their centuries-old cellars and vineyard rows, are part of the draw, and the shop is typically the last stop after a guided tour or tasting flight.
