Presa Chihuahua Recreation Area

Presa Chihuahua is a reservoir on the outskirts of Chihuahua City, Mexico, reached via the Carretera a Aldama, that serves as a local weekend recreation spot rather than a formal tourist attraction. The shoreline is open for walking, with informal areas where local vendors rent small boats and jet skis, and picnic spots favored by families along the water's edge. A visit typically runs one to two hours, mostly spent walking the shoreline or, for those renting a boat, an additional hour or so on the water. There is no single standout vantage point; the appeal is the open water and desert-lake scenery rather than a specific landmark, and the reservoir is at its most lively on weekend afternoons when local families arrive for picnics and boat rentals. Weekday visits are much quieter, with the shoreline largely empty outside of a few anglers or walkers.
