Zip-Lining at Cascadas El Chiflon

The zip-line circuit at Cascadas El Chiflon runs riders on several linked cables across the forested ravine, with views down to the turquoise pools below the falls. No prior experience is needed, and the ride suits most fitness levels and older children, though most operators set a minimum weight and require closed-toe shoes; very young children typically ride tandem with a guide or are excluded depending on their size. The Ejido El Chiflon community cooperative provides and fits the harness, helmet, and pulley, and staff run the braking and launch at each platform rather than leaving riders to self-manage speed. A short safety briefing before the first line covers body position, the braking signal, and what to do if a rider comes to a stop partway across a line, in which case staff pull the rider in by a rescue line. The circuit is open year-round, and while the driest trails and clearest views are from November to April, the falls themselves run fuller and more dramatic in the rainy season, so many visitors prefer the wetter months for photographs despite muddier approach trails. The zip-line is usually combined with the walk up to the 120-metre Velo de Novia waterfall, the highlight of the wider Cascadas El Chiflon park.
