Dry Season / Peak Season
The ideal time to visit Baja California Sur. Temperatures are pleasant (22-28°C), skies are clear, seas are calm, and wildlife viewing is at its best. This is whale watching season (Jan-Mar) and whale shark season (Nov-Mar). High tourist season means higher prices and busier resorts. Book well in advance.

Shoulder Season
Excellent value travel windows with good weather, fewer crowds, and lower prices. May is warm and dry. October sees the tail end of hurricane season but weather usually stabilizes by mid-October. Some wildlife viewing opportunities remain.

Hot / Hurricane Season
The hottest and most humid period. Temperatures regularly exceed 38-40°C inland. The Pacific coast (Todos Santos, Cerritos) is prone to tropical storms and occasional hurricanes. The Sea of Cortez side is calmer but still very hot. August and September are highest-risk hurricane months. Water is warmest for swimming.
