The St. Regis Mauritius Resort stands at the base of Le Morne Brabant, a UNESCO World Heritage site mountain that rises from the peninsula at the island's southwest tip. The resort is approximately 70 kilometres from Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport, about 90 minutes by road—a journey best completed in the hotel's own transfer vehicle. The surrounding area is near-deserted scrubland and turquoise lagoon, giving the property a genuine sense of seclusion from the rest of the island.
The hotel opened in 2012 as the first St. Regis property in the Indian Ocean, built to the brand's all-suite, all-butler specification. Colonial-inspired architecture references Mauritian plantation houses—verandahs, louvred shutters, pitched copper roofs—scaled up to resort proportions. The main building fronts a 500-metre arc of private beach, shielded from open ocean by the peninsula's reef.
All 172 accommodations are suites, beginning at 100 square metres for Garden Suites and scaling up to the two-storey Royal Suite. The Iridium Spa spans approximately 3,000 square metres with 13 treatment rooms, a thalassotherapy circuit, and a full menu of Ayurvedic and European treatments.
