Climate Overview

Luxembourg has a temperate oceanic climate (Cfb) characterized by mild summers, cool winters, and rainfall spread throughout the year. The country sits at the crossroads of maritime Atlantic influences from the west and continental European patterns from the east, resulting in changeable and often grey weather particularly in autumn and winter. Summers are pleasantly warm (20-25C) but rarely hot, while winters are cold and frequently foggy with occasional snow in the northern Ardennes. Rain can fall in any month but is heaviest in November-January. Luxembourg City and the south are slightly warmer than the Ardennes north.
