Day trip tips
Make the most of your excursions.
Failaka ferries reportedly do not sail on Fridays and cancellations occur; confirm the day's sailing with Joan al-Kuwait or Ikarus Marine.
Take ID for the ferry and bring a car to cover Failaka's size.
Start early; midday heat above 45 C from June to September makes outdoor sites unpleasant.
Friday and Saturday form the Kuwait weekend: roads and ferries are busiest then.
Stay on paved roads unless in a 4WD with recovery gear; soft sand traps cars.
