One of the most beautiful but overlooked temple complexes in the Prambanan Plain, Plaosan consists of twin Buddhist temples surrounded by smaller stupas and shrines. Built by a Hindu king for his Buddhist queen, Plaosan is a symbol of religious harmony and offers stunning sunrise views of Merapi in the background.
