Built in 1744 during the Balinese Karangasem rule of Lombok, Mayura Water Palace features a floating bale (pavilion) set in the middle of an artificial lake, surrounded by lush gardens and Hindu temples. The complex was once the court of justice for the royal family and scene of several historical battles.
