Believed to be the oldest mosque in Lombok, the Bayan Beleq mosque was built in the 16th century and still stands in remarkable condition in the village of Bayan, at the foot of Mount Rinjani. The mosque reflects the unique Wektu Telu blend of Islam and animist Sasak spirituality and is a sacred pilgrimage site.
