Primrose Hotel Patras

The Primrose Hotel occupies a building on Othonos Amalias Avenue, the broad boulevard running parallel to the Patras seafront and serving as the principal approach road to the city's international ferry terminal. The location places guests roughly 300 metres from the quayside, within easy reach of bus connections to Athens via the E65 national road and the intercity KTEL bus station. Plateia Georgiou I, the city's historic main square lined with neoclassical façades, is about a seven-minute walk east along the waterfront promenade.

The hotel is a compact, efficiently run property suited to budget-conscious travellers, ferry passengers, and solo explorers. Rooms are simply furnished but maintained to a clean and functional standard, with air conditioning fitted throughout. Single, Double, and Triple configurations accommodate individuals, couples, and small groups sharing costs. Bathrooms are en suite with shower. Breakfast, charged separately, is served on the ground floor and includes bread, cheese, cold cuts, and coffee—sufficient for an early ferry departure.

The Primrose does not offer a spa, pool, or fitness room, but its position on a broad seafront avenue and its proximity to the steps leading up to the Kastro (the Byzantine-period castle above the old town) provide easy access to walking routes and open-air sites. Reception staff hold extended hours and can advise on ferry timetables, local bus connections to Kalavrita mountain railway terminus, and day-trip routes to the ancient ruins of Patras. The Rio–Antirrio suspension bridge, linking the Peloponnese to mainland Greece and visible from the waterfront, is approximately seven kilometres north by road.
