Lemnos and Samos have the calmest waters and best family beaches. Ikaria and the rugged west coast of Lesbos are less suitable for young children.
Rent a car with a child seat — book in advance as availability is limited. Request on the car hire booking form.
Pharmacies in main towns (Mytilini, Chios Town, Vathy) carry nappies, formula, and children's medicines.
Greek summer heat (30°C+/86°F+ in July–August) means staying in the shade between 12:00 and 16:00. Plan morning and evening activities.
Ferry crossings with young children: reserve a cabin or seats in the indoor saloon — decks are noisy and wind-exposed in summer.
