Allegro Restaurant occupies a terrace position on the Arseniou promenade in Corfu Town, with views over the Ionian Sea toward the Albanian coast and the ancient Venetian fortifications. The restaurant positions itself at the upper end of Corfu's fine dining market, presenting a seasonally evolving Mediterranean menu that draws heavily on Corfiot produce — local olive oil, kumquat, herbs from the island's interior, and fish landed at the nearby old port. The kitchen takes a creative rather than strictly traditional approach: dishes are plated with care, flavour combinations are unexpected without being eccentric, and the tasting menu format allows the chef's intent to be appreciated in full. Local lamb appears alongside house-cured fish preparations; kumquat features in desserts and in reductions that accompany meat courses. The wine list covers Greece comprehensively, with particular strength in whites from Assyrtiko and indigenous Ionian varieties. The dining room is formal in its tablecloths and calm atmosphere, with staff who are attentive without being intrusive. The outdoor terrace is the most coveted section — sea-facing tables here require advance booking and are considered some of the most atmospheric in the Old Town. The restaurant operates evenings only from Tuesday to Sunday, closing Mondays; in the shoulder season it may reduce hours further, so confirming by phone is advisable.
