St George Lycabettus Lifestyle Hotel

St George Lycabettus sits at the base of Lycabettus Hill, the pine-covered limestone outcrop that rises above Kolonaki as the highest point in central Athens. The hotel has operated in this neighborhood for decades and is closely identified with Kolonaki's identity as the city's most upscale residential district, a few streets uphill from the boutiques and cafes around Kolonaki Square.

The rooftop pool and bar look out over the city toward the Acropolis and Saronic Gulf, a view made possible by the elevation gain from the hill itself rather than the height of the building. The hotel's location also puts it within walking distance — a steep one, given the hill — of the funicular railway up to the Chapel of Agios Georgios at the Lycabettus summit, from which the whole Attica basin is visible on a clear day.

The Benaki Museum and Museum of Cycladic Art are both within a 10-15 minute walk downhill toward Vasilissis Sofias Avenue.
