- November to March is the best hiking season with clear skies, firm paths, and manageable heat in southern Ghana. Northern savannah trails are most accessible in these months
- Harmattan
- December to February brings dry Saharan wind (harmattan) to northern Ghana reducing visibility but creating atmospheric dusty light for photography
- Wet Season
- April to October brings heavy rain making forest trails lush and waterfalls powerful. Wli and Boti Falls are most spectacular July-September, but paths become slippery
- Peak
- Waterfalls are strongest July-September. Wildlife viewing at Mole best November-March when watering holes concentrate animals
