- Thueringen Ticket
- The Thüringen-Ticket costs €35 for one traveller or adds €8 per extra person up to five, and covers unlimited travel on regional trains and local transit across Thuringia, Saxony, and Saxony-Anhalt for a full day; it is valid from 9 AM on weekdays and from midnight on weekends and holidays, making it the cheapest way to reach almost any day trip on this list, including Naumburg and Leipzig across the state border.
- Ice High Speed
- For Leipzig and longer-distance connections, ICE high-speed trains on the Munich–Berlin line cut travel time significantly compared with regional trains but are not covered by the Thüringen-Ticket and cost more unless booked as an advance-purchase Sparpreis fare.
