Robert Johnson

Robert Johnson is an electronic music club at Nordring 131 in Offenbach am Main, directly east of Frankfurt am Main, in the German state of Hesse. Although the club lies just across the city boundary in the Hafen area of Offenbach, it is regarded as part of the Frankfurt club scene and is regularly ranked among the best electronic venues in Europe. The venue is known for a compact, dark room with a high-quality sound system and a dance floor that is focused on the music rather than on appearances. The crowd is made up of committed electronic music fans, locals and international visitors, mostly in their twenties and thirties. There is no formal dress code, and the door tends to favour guests who look like they came for the music: relaxed, dark, comfortable clothing is the norm, and flashy or very formal dress is not expected. Photos on the dance floor are not allowed, and phone cameras are typically covered or restricted, so visitors should respect the rule. The programme centres on minimal, house and techno, with resident and visiting DJs playing long sets that often run through the night and into the morning.
