Best time Shoulder Worth avoiding

Average daytime temperature in °C. Figures are for Bremen.

Bremen is a small, proud city-state in northern Germany, made up of the Hanseatic port city of Bremen and its seaport exclave Bremerhaven, straddling the Weser river roughly 60 km from the North Sea. Once a powerful member of the medieval Hanseatic League, Bremen is famous for its UNESCO-listed Rathaus and Roland statue, the fairy-tale Town Musicians of Bremen, and the artistic Böttcherstraße and Schnoor quarter. Compact, walkable, and less crowded than Germany's larger cities, Bremen combines centuries of maritime trading history with a lively university-town atmosphere.

Bremen has a temperate maritime climate shaped by its proximity to the North Sea, roughly 60 km up the Weser river. Winters are cold and damp rather than bitterly cold (January averages around 3-4°C), while summers are mild and rarely sweltering (July highs typically 21-23°C). Rain falls fairly evenly across the year, with no single dry season, so a compact umbrella or rain shell is useful in any month. Grey, overcast skies are common, especially from November through February, while May through September brings the longest daylight and the best chance of sustained dry, mild spells.
