Soho House Berlin

Soho House Berlin occupies a landmark 1920s building on Torstraße in Mitte, at the edge of the Spandauer Vorstadt district — one of Berlin's most energetic creative neighbourhoods. The building served as the headquarters of the East German Communist Party's Central Committee during the GDR era, lending historical layers to what is now a stylish members' club and hotel. Rosenthaler Platz, surrounded by independent bars, restaurants, and galleries, is two minutes on foot. Hackescher Markt and the Mitte arts district are a 10-minute walk; the Rosenthaler Platz U8 station is directly outside.

The building retains its original Bauhaus-influenced structure and exterior while the interiors have been transformed in the worn-in, eclectic aesthetic that defines the Soho House group worldwide: vintage furniture, exposed brick, original artwork, mismatched mid-century pieces, and abundant plants throughout. The 40 hotel rooms — available to non-members — range from Cosy to Large and are genuinely characterful rather than corporate. No two rooms are identical, and all carry the group's signature look of casually assembled quality.

The members' club facilities include a celebrated rooftop pool, a screening room, and a Cowshed Spa with treatment rooms, steam room, and sauna. Cecconi's restaurant, the group's Italian concept, serves classic dishes from breakfast through dinner in a bright, relaxed dining room and is accessible to hotel guests. The bar operates late and is central to the building's social life. Non-members staying in hotel rooms generally have access to Cecconi's and the ground-floor bar; rooftop access policies vary by demand and season.

Service is deliberately relaxed rather than formal — staff are knowledgeable about the creative scene and the neighbourhood rather than focused on traditional luxury protocols. The atmosphere is one of studied ease. The hotel is popular with media, fashion, film, and music industry guests, making the communal areas a genuine hub of Berlin's creative industry network. It is less suited to guests seeking conventional hotel luxury than to those who want to be part of a specific social scene.
