Ngala Lodge

Ngala Lodge is a boutique luxury hotel positioned at 64 Atlantic Boulevard in the Fajara district of The Gambia, on the Atlantic coastline between the commercial area of Bakau and the resort strip of Kololi. The property overlooks the North Atlantic Ocean and is surrounded by lush tropical garden grounds that provide a peaceful buffer from the surrounding residential neighbourhood. Despite its relatively central location, the lodge maintains the atmosphere of an intimate retreat through a deliberately small guest inventory that enables highly personalised service.

The accommodation portfolio is divided into three categories. The Femmy Suite and the Macondo Residence are beachfront configurations of approximately 60 square metres each, both featuring private plunge pools and outdoor showers — and representing the most exclusive accommodation Ngala Lodge offers. Four Manor Suites serve guests seeking elegant inland-facing rooms: each is fitted with a private balcony, artisan décor, and furnishings designed to balance aesthetic detail with practical comfort. A minimum guest age of 18 applies across all accommodation, establishing Ngala Lodge as an adults-only property.

Dining is centred on a single on-site restaurant that emphasises seasonal, locally-sourced Gambian ingredients. The kitchen draws on fresh Atlantic seafood, tropical fruits, and regional herbs and spices in a menu that changes to reflect available produce. The bar and terrace area provide outdoor seating within the garden grounds.

The garden pool is a central point for relaxation. Massage and body treatment services are available on request. Additional guest services include airport pickup, daily housekeeping, laundry, and round-the-clock room service. The concierge team coordinates local excursions including birdwatching in the Fajara area, cultural visits to the Kachikally Crocodile Pool in nearby Bakau, and river excursions further into The Gambia's interior.
