Parking is available at Luukki Manor, Kaitalampi and Halkolampi. No permit or entrance fee applies. The terrain is easy to walk apart from a few steep hills, so elevation gain is modest and technical difficulty is low, although the length of the longer loop makes it a moderate outing. The surface is forest path, roots, some rock and damp ground near the ponds. Forest shade is plentiful, and the lake edges give open views. The route passes Hepolampi, Hauklampi, Mustalampi, Väärälampi and Halkolampi, plus the swimming spot at Kaitalampi, and seven cooking shelters are located along the way, which makes it practical to stop for a meal. Walkers can shorten the day by choosing the shorter loop or by turning back toward Luukki Manor at the pond they prefer. There is no staffed hut on the trail, and drinking water should be carried. The trails and cooking shelters are not maintained in winter, so conditions may be less reliable from late autumn to spring. In summer, a swimsuit is useful at Kaitalampi. The area is a popular day trip from Helsinki.
