Beanos Cafe

Beanos Cafe is one of Egypt's longest-established home-grown coffee chains, operating branches in Cairo, Alexandria, and other Egyptian cities since the late 1990s. The chain occupies the comfortable tier between independent specialty cafes and international chains: it offers reliably prepared espresso drinks, a broad food menu covering breakfast through to dessert, consistent WiFi, and air-conditioned comfort that Egyptian urban populations have come to depend on for work, study, and social meetings. The coffee programme includes lattes, cappuccinos, Americanos, and a range of iced and blended beverages suited to Egypt's climate. The food menu is more ambitious than many chains: breakfast platters, sandwiches, pasta dishes, salads, and a dessert section featuring cheesecake and layer cakes appear alongside lighter options. Cheesecake is a consistent seller across branches. Multiple Cairo locations include branches in Zamalek, Maadi, Mohandiseen, and New Cairo, with Alexandria branches serving the Mediterranean city's cafe culture. Each Beanos branch tends to attract its neighborhood's characteristic demographic: Zamalek branches draw expats and upper-middle-class Egyptians; suburban branches fill with families and younger crowds. Prices are consistent and moderate — above street-food levels but below full-service restaurant costs. Beanos opened before many younger competitors and its network of branches gives it a geographic reach that more specialized cafes lack.
