Aswan's nightlife is modest and centred primarily on Nile-view hotel terraces, ahwa coffeehouses, shisha lounges and evening cultural experiences rather than nightclubs and bars. The city's conservative Nubian and Muslim character means that dedicated bar and club scenes are very limited outside of upscale hotels.
