The outdoor stalls are at their best from late spring through October, when farmers from eastern Ontario and western Quebec sell strawberries, corn, tomatoes, apples, and maple products. The iconic BeaverTails pastry kiosk, one of the chain's original locations, operates in the market area year-round. Ottawa's most concentrated restaurant district extends outward from the market square along Clarence, York, and George streets, offering dining options from casual to mid-range in virtually every cuisine.
