When to visit

June to October for walking the ramparts and terraces, or late January to mid-February for the Québec Winter Carnival; a day trip is long, so take the first morning train.

Accessibility

Upper and Lower Town are linked by steep streets and stairs; the Funiculaire du Vieux-Québec (16 rue du Petit-Champlain) avoids the Breakneck Stairs. Cobblestones in Lower Town are uneven for wheelchairs.
