Sitting at roughly 760-800m elevation, the city is markedly cooler and far more changeable — locals genuinely say 'quatro estações em um dia' (four seasons in one day) because temperature and sky conditions can swing dramatically within hours. Winters (June-August) are mild and dry with occasional cold snaps; summers (December-March) are warm, humid, and stormy. Rain is concentrated November through March; June through August is the dry season.

Warm and humid with daily highs around 27-29°C, punctuated by sudden, intense afternoon thunderstorms (sometimes with localized flooding on major avenues). New Year's Eve draws large crowds to Avenida Paulista.
Fall
Months: March to May
Rain tapers off and temperatures moderate pleasantly, dropping from the mid-20s°C in March to the high teens by May. Skies clear noticeably by April, making this a favorite season with locals for weekend park visits.
Winter

São Paulo's coolest, driest season — daytime highs of 19-22°C but mornings and evenings can dip to 10-13°C, occasionally lower during a cold front (friagem) sweeping up from the south. Rain is minimal and skies are often clear, though mornings can bring dense fog and thermal inversion smog.
