Bar Original, in the Pinheiros neighborhood, is one of São Paulo's most traditional botequins—the casual corner bars that anchor the city's everyday food and drinking culture—known above all for its Saturday feijoada. The weekly feijoada service follows the traditional format in full: black beans stewed with pork cuts, served alongside white rice, farofa (toasted manioc flour), sautéed collard greens, orange slices to cut the richness, grilled steak and torresmo (crispy pork crackling), a spread substantial enough to anchor a long Saturday lunch that stretches into the afternoon. Beyond feijoada day, the regular menu keeps to classic botequim fare: torresmo served as a standalone snack, bolinho de bacalhau (salt cod fritters) and other petiscos designed for sharing over beer, plus a full lineup of caipirinhas and other simple cocktails. The atmosphere is unpretentious and social, with the kind of long-standing regulars and casual energy typical of a neighborhood bar rather than a destination restaurant, even though its feijoada has built a reputation well beyond Pinheiros. Tables spill toward the sidewalk on pleasant days, and the bar tends to fill up with groups rather than solo diners, especially on weekend afternoons. Because Saturday feijoada is by far the restaurant's busiest and most sought-after service, reservations are strongly recommended for that specific day; other days of the week are considerably more relaxed and generally accept walk-ins without difficulty.
