Day trip tips
Make the most of your excursions.
Bahrain is just 750 km² in area — virtually every attraction can be reached by car in under 45 minutes from Manama, making multi-site day trips very practical
Start early — the Tree of Life and Bahrain Fort are best experienced before 10 AM before heat builds and tour groups arrive. Plan to be at outdoor sites before 9 AM
Combine southern Bahrain sites into one efficient loop: Tree of Life > Jebel Dukhan viewpoint > Oil Museum > Al Areen Wildlife Park > return via Riffa Fort
Friday mornings (Islamic holy day) are the quietest time to visit most sites — souks and shops are closed but archaeological and natural sites remain open
Carry 2+ litres of water per person for desert excursions — there are no water sources at the Tree of Life or between southern sites
