Hotel Bergkristall Sölden

Hotel Bergkristall is a welcoming 4-star hotel at Innerwald 30 in Sölden, the principal resort town of the Ötztal valley in Tyrol, Austria. Sölden sits at approximately 1,377 metres above sea level in one of the longest and most dramatic lateral valleys in the Austrian Alps, extending from the Inn valley near Innsbruck deep into glaciated terrain above 3,000 metres. The resort is the centrepiece of the Ötztal Arena ski area, one of the largest and most elevated ski networks in Tyrol with 144 kilometres of groomed piste and glacier terrain served by more than 30 lifts.

The hotel occupies a position in the Innerwald district of Sölden. Rooms are furnished in a comfortable alpine style with warm natural materials and Tyrolean character, ranging from standard double rooms to superior categories suited to extended mountain stays. The Ice Q restaurant and observation platform on the Gaislachkogl, used as a filming location in the James Bond film Spectre (2015), is accessible by cable car and has become a cultural landmark of the resort. The Rettenbachferner hosts the Audi FIS Alpine Ski World Cup opening slalom and giant slalom races each October and November, drawing international teams and spectators to Sölden before the main winter season opens across Austria.

Year-round glacier skiing on the Rettenbach and Tiefenbach glaciers is a defining feature of the resort — Sölden is one of a small number of locations in the Alps where skiing outside the standard winter season is reliably available, and the glaciers are used by national ski teams for summer training. In the warmer months, the Ötztal's lift infrastructure opens for mountain biking and hiking on high terrain, while the Gletscherstraße — Austria's highest road at 2,829 metres — connects Sölden across the Timmelsjoch pass into South Tyrol, a route popular with cyclists and motorcyclists in summer.

Sölden is reachable from Innsbruck by car via the A12 motorway to Ötztal Bahnhof and the B186 Ötztal valley road, a journey of approximately 70–90 minutes. Ötztal Bahnhof on the Inn valley railway is the junction for regular bus services running up the valley to Sölden year-round.
