Glenorchy and Paradise Valley Day Trip
A spectacular 45-minute drive along the western shore of Lake Wakatipu leads through the tiny village of Glenorchy to the legendary Paradise Valley—used as the filming location for Lothlórien in The Lord of the Rings and Isengard surroundings. The road beyond Glenorchy passes braided river flats, dense beech forests, and dramatic mountains.
